Prampram Senior High School: Forging Future Leaders through a Trailblazing Election Experience

Senior prefectoral debate.
At Prampram SHS, we believe that leadership is cultivated through experience, responsibility, and integrity. This year’s student elections were more than just selecting leaders—they were a powerful journey that prepared our students for the challenges of tomorrow. From meticulous planning to cutting edge technology, each step was designed to instill values, skills, and confidence that will serve them for a lifetime.
Innovative Electoral System: Pioneering a New Era of Democratic Learning

Vetting of 2025 candidates.
Our electoral process began with a leap into the future. Responding to
feedback from previous years, our Electoral Commission Chairman, Mr.
Robert Oyadic Mensah, introduced a revolutionary electronic voting
system. Gone were the days of long queues and confusion; instead,
students voted confidently on a single PC at the ICT Laboratory, a hub
of security and modernity.
This technological shift did more than streamline voting—it
taught students the importance of embracing innovation, adapting to
change, and trusting in transparency. It was a live demonstration that
progress depends on our willingness to evolve and harness new tools.
Strategic Planning: Building Discipline and Responsibility
The election timeline was a carefully crafted roadmap, beginning with candidate applications and culminated in a public debate. Students learned the value of deadlines, integrity, and fairness as they prepared their manifestos and engaged in spirited discussions. These activities taught them that responsible planning and clear communication are essential skills in leadership and life.
Fostering awareness and enthusiasm, student candidates also designed eyecatching posters to promote their campaigns. These posters were posted at designated areas around the school, serving as visual tools to inform and inspire their peers. This exercise in creativity and marketing allowed students to understand the importance of messaging, branding, and the power of visual communication in leadership.
Campaigning and Public Engagement: Cultivating Confidence and Public Speaking

Campaigns were vibrant, energetic, and full of purpose. Candidates took to the stage to share their visions, inspiring their peers with hope and ambition. This stage was more than just a platform; it was a training ground for public speaking, persuasion, and the courage to voice one’s ideas. Through these activities, students learned that effective communication can motivate and unite communities. They discovered that leadership is about inspiring others and listening to diverse perspectives.
Election Day: A Modern, Transparent Experience
On voting day, students experienced democracy firsthand. The electronic system allowed for quick, accurate, and transparent results, fostering a culture of trust and honesty. Signing class lists before and after voting emphasised the importance of accountability, teaching students that responsible recordkeeping is fundamental in leadership. Despite the academic commitments of Form Three students, whose participation was limited due to exams, the overall process was seamless—showcasing that discipline and organisation are key to success.
